SSL built the concrete foundations for a solar parkade (a solar car port) at the Turkish Embassy. Ten foundation columns were cast inside an existing interlocking-paver car park, using 14.5 m³ of concrete in total, ready to receive the galvanised steel solar structure.
The car park sits on a slope, so setting out and levelling was the critical task: every foundation had to be set to the right level relative to the others so that the steel structure stands true and the solar panels sit evenly. Levels were controlled from the setting-out stage, through excavation and formwork, to concreting, and the paving was reinstated around the finished foundations.
Scope of Work
Setting out of the foundation positions in the existing car park
Lifting and stacking the interlocking paving blocks
Excavation, reinforcement cages and timber formwork
Concreting of 10 foundation columns: 14.5 m³ in total
Level control on a sloping site for the solar stand
Reinstatement of paving around the completed foundations
